Golden Spikes Advance to College Cup
The fans in Gatineau College are celebrating the Golden Spikes victory over the Wilkes-Barre Township College Villians in the College League Championship Series.

They defeated the Wilkes-Barre Township College Villians 3-2 in the finale played at Wilkes-Barre Township College Grounds to capture the series 4-2.

Brian Leivan was chosen the series' Most Valuable Player. The Golden Spikes catcher batted .350, drove in 7 runs and scored 3 runs in the series.

"The Villians are a good club and I don't mean any disrespect to their pitching staff, but things just felt easy this series," Leivan said. "Everything at the plate seemed right."

The Gatineau College Golden Spikes don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the El Paso College Missiles - San Luis Obispo College Monsoon series. El Paso College leads the series 3 games to 2. The College Cup schedule will be announced after the College League Championship Series finishes.
