Bob Elliott sparked his Eugene Ducks past the pesky Rochester Spartans in a closely-contested League Championship Series.

Eugene topped Rochester 3-1 at Eugene Ballpark to decide the series, 4-2

For his efforts, Elliott was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .227 batting average, 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

"You never want to leave anything on the field," Elliott said. "You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you'll need to win."

The Eugene Ducks don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Brooklyn Dodgers - Wilmington Eagles series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Explorer Cup schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
