Lincolns Move on to Union Cup
The Springfield Lincolns clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Salem Cherries room was filled with despair and sadness after the League Championship Series concluded.

"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Miguel Buenrostro, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.

Springfield won the final game by a 11-3 count at Salem Stadium and the series 4-1.

Salem manager was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.

"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.

For the series, Buenrostro hit .435 with a .458 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Springfield Lincolns don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Ocean City Crabpots - Menlo Park Marauders series. Menlo Park leads the series 3 games to 2. The Union Cup schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
