The New York Empire took down the North Carolina Aviators by the score of 3-2 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the League Championship Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to New York starter Ralph Johns, who threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chris Patrick? The 24-year old right fielder Patrick stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put New York up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
