Vipers Make Resonance 5-4 Losers
|
The 2065 season did not get off to quite the start the Washington Resonance had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Arizona Vipers at The Boom Box. The final score was 5-4. Starting Pitcher Plácido Dinares was the top performer for Arizona. Dinares, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs.
Arizona used the timely hitting of Chris Reinert to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Vipers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Dinares.
