Knights, Lyon Pin Bad Loss on Aviators
The North Carolina Aviators opened their 2065 season with a disappointing 10-1 loss to the Ohio Knights at Lowe's Field at Bojangles' Stadium. Third Baseman Bob Lyon was a big part of the win for Ohio. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dave Utley got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1.

With Ohio leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Lyon hit a cutter from Alfredo Sifuentes for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Knights ahead, 3-0.

North Carolina manager called the blowout loss "ugly."
