Minnesota Gets 5-3 Road Win
The Minnesota Mallards topped the Oregon Explorers, 5-3, in Frontier League action at Multnomah Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Minnesota pitcher and West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, native Brian McGruder. With their winning streak at 4, the Mallards have raced to a strong start this season.

Minnesota used a well-timed hit by Omar Ortiz to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mallards ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Minnesota manager .
