North Carolina got a terrific game from second baseman Tony Jasso. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ohio, 9-4. Jasso was 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dennis Ackerstrom, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-1. North Carolina, at 3-9, is off to a poor start in 2071.

The Aviators had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Knights going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old catcher Jason McSweeney came to the plate. McSweeney hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 sinker from North Carolina hurler Jake Pate. It was McSweeney's 3rd double of the year.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," McSweeney said after the game.
