Julian Nichols pitched a dandy of a game to help the Minnesota Mallards beat the Idaho Steelheads, 6-1. The winning pitcher was Nichols, now 1-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. Bob MacEwen closed it out for his 1st save.

The Mallards got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ruben Agueros. For the game, Agueros was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Minnesota a 2-0 lead.
