Empire Deal Athletics 2-0 Defeat
|
In a low-scoring affair between the New York Empire and the New Jersey Athletics, pitcher Nick O'Hara was the difference between victory and defeat. The New York right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Empire win. Pat Delaney got credit for the save for New York. It was his 11th of the year. The Empire, now 14-6, have been playing some good baseball.
Tony Salgado, the 26-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Salgado contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put New York up, 2-0.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Salgado.
