Giel Wiegman pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Alabama Yellowhammers, despite Wiegman's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Ohio Knights at Madison County Grounds. The winning pitcher was Masashi Kashiwabara. He's now 2-1. He went 7 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits for the Knights. The win has Ohio at 12-14.

Billy Wheelock, the slugging first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Wheelock contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Ohio up, 1-0.
