Blue Pirates Defeat Knights, 8-7
|
Thanks in large part to right fielder Jesus Capistran, the Ontario Blue Pirates clipped the Ohio Knights, 8-7, in 12 innings. Capistran went 5 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The Blue Pirates, with just their 10th win so far in 2069, have yet to catch fire.
The Blue Pirates got a clutch hit from designated hitter Joe Peterson. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Blue Pirates.
Peterson said afterward that he hoped the win would galvanize the team.
