6 Straight Wins for Danger
|
New Mexico first baseman Carlos Benitez contributed significantly to his team's 7-3 win over the Minnesota Mallards. Benitez, who is tied for 5th in the FL in doubles with 13, went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Danger. Steve Anderson, the winner, goes to 2-3. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Ralph Holmes notched his 2nd save of the season.
New Mexico left fielder Josh Perry contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 51st hit of the season and put the Danger ahead, 4-3.
Perry called the win "a collective effort."
The Danger have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
