Led by Keith Newsom, the Minnesota Mallards defeated the Idaho Steelheads, 6-4. Newsom went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Mallards. Marc Umland picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Mike Soper suffered the loss. The first-place Mallards now sit at 39-12.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Minnesota. That's when Bobby Avalos, the 12th overall pick in the 2067 draft, hit a 2-run home run off Mike Soper to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"What a buzz," said Avalos after it was over.
