Bridegrooms Win at Washington, 2-0
|
The Maryland Bridegrooms got a stellar performance from pitcher Nathan Stone, who handcuffed the Washington offense en route to a win, 2-0, at The Boom Box. Stone, now 5-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The 'W' lifts Maryland's record to 26-19.
Juan Moya helped the Maryland cause with two out in the top of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 1st and Maryland leading 1-0, he hit a run-scoring double.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Moya.
