Pearson, Reign Too Much for Lions
|
Dave Pearson was a major factor in the 11-6 Washington win over Kentucky. The Reign catcher went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Alain Bellot. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-4. With the win, Washington pushed its record to 30-30.
Estevan Garsia, who finished 2nd in the FL in runs with 95 in 2066, chipped in a grand slam home run for Washington in the bottom of the second. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 5 runs batted in.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Reign manager Richard Hager. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
