The Athletics had to overcome a good performance from Kentucky pitcher Curt Peterson to claim a 3-2 win at Johnson & Johnson Field. Peterson went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Joe Berry, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 17th save. New Jersey has now won 7 in a row.

New Jersey took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, shortstop Tom Harris hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.

Harris told a New Jersey Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
