Salgado Lifts Empire to 8-4 Win
The New York Empire topped the Maryland Bridegrooms by the score of 8-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Tony Salgado. Salgado hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Empire on the day. Bora Kraljevic recorded his 2nd save for New York. New York is now 25-31.

Salgado had a key at-bat for New York early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and gave New York an early 2-0 lead.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Salgado.
