New Mexico Gets 7-3 Win
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The New Mexico Danger grabbed a win, 7-3, over the Minnesota Mallards at Dylan Park at Hennepin. New Mexico center fielder Victor Ybarra was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. New Mexico pitcher Sam Johnson got the win, upping his record to 5-3. José Noriega got the loss.
There was more than one reason the Danger beat the Mallards, but Ybarra's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ybarra. "And not try to do too much."
Minnesota's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
