Lions Top Athletics, 2-1
|
The Kentucky Lions picked up a win at Lions Stadium, taking down the New Jersey Athletics, 2-1. Starting pitcher Raul Arvelos was a big reason why. Kentucky now owns a record of 31-37.
Kentucky won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With one out and César Martínez on the mound for New Jersey, designated hitter Brent Gatz hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Lions fans to their feet.
"I like what I saw today," said Kentucky manager , "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
