Wiegman Dominant in Yellowhammers Victory
|
Alabama Yellowhammers starter Giel Wiegman worked his magic, as he helped his team defeat the New York Empire, 6-1. The win hiked the Alabama record to 39-34.
Wiegman, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 1 hit over 7.1 innings for the Yellowhammers. For the most part, New York hitters were simply overmatched.
"Giel -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Yellowhammers manager Liam Maroney. "He was the key to us winning."
