Minnesota Mallards starter Brian McGruder was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Illinois Warhawks, 7-2. McGruder, the winner, moves to 3-7. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. With the win, Minnesota upped its record to 40-35.

The Mallards got a lift from first baseman Devin Ward, who in the bottom of the third hit a bases-clearing double. His 7th double of the season put the Mallards on top, 3-0.
