Vacio Powers Resonance to 5-1 Win
|
No one was more impactful than Joel Vacio in the 5-1 Washington win over Illinois. Vacio, who is tied for 10th in the FL in total bases with 139, was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Washington has now won 3 straight, while the Warhawks have lost 3 in a row.
Vacio had a key at-bat for Washington early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and gave Washington an early 3-0 lead.
"I'm proud to wear a Washington jersey," Vacio told the Washington Citizen. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
