Hernández Delivers Walk-Off Win for Athletics
|
The Ohio Knights went down to defeat to Éric Rossi and his New Jersey teammates. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Athletics. The win was credited to Philippe Bourbon in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Jake Rittler took the loss. The Knights, now 34-44, have lost 5 straight.
Jesús Hernández was the walk-off hero for New Jersey. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Athletics shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Rossi said.
