Steelheads Top Vipers, 6-1
|
Arizona got a terrific performance from pitcher Jorge Maldonado, but it wasn't enough to beat the Idaho Steelheads. Idaho won the The Snake Pit contest, 6-1. Maldonado threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Idaho goes to 48-34. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
Kurt Woodard, the 28-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Woodard contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Idaho up, 2-1.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Woodard.
