The New York Empire trumped the Maryland Bridegrooms, 8-3, at Bridegrooms Stadium. New York catcher Brian Leivan was terrific. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Keiran Lockrey, the winner, improved to 6-5. He held the Bridegrooms to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. New York has now won 3 in a row.

New York used a clutch at-bat from Jorge Reynoso to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Empire ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Reynoso told the New York Daily.
