Railroaders Snag 4-2 Win
|
Pennsylvania beat New York in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Behind an impressive start by Bernie Custello, Pennsylvania beat New York, 4-2. Reliever Lysander Kalergi picked up the win. His record improves to 8-6. Pat Delaney took the loss.
Pennsylvania used a clutch hit from Iván López to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Railroaders ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Bottom line," said New York skipper Richard Hager, "we didn't play well enough to win."
Pennsylvania bumps their record to 37-47 with the win.
