Bears Topple Warhawks with Late Rally
|
Starting pitcher Jose Rosales gave the Colorado Bears a rock-solid effort. The San Antonio, Texas native helped his team defeat the Illinois Warhawks, 3-2, at Todd Berry Memorial Field. Jason Stoehr got credit for the save for Colorado. It was his 19th of the year. The setback makes Illinois 33-56.
Colorado used a timely hit from Bob Nava to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bears ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Nava attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
