The Ohio Knights got a magnificent effort from pitcher Ed Gillberry, who kept Ontario hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Knights win at Huntington Park. Gillberry picked up the win for Ohio, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-11. Picking up the save was Jake Rittler. He's now 12 for 15 in save chances.

The Blue Pirates had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Knights going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old catcher Phil Bartel came to the plate. Bartel hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Ontario hurler Kei-thing Xiang. It was Bartel's 5th home run of the year.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bartel told a Ohio Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

Ohio is 38-55 and Ontario, with the loss, 52-41.
