New York Edges Pennsylvania, 7-6
|
Empire second baseman Mark Schneider left his mark on his team's 7-6 win over the Pennsylvania Railroaders. Schneider was 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for New York in the contest. Ben Montoya came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-3. Pennsylvania has now lost 5 straight.
Schneider had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Leo Evans, he banged a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Empire a 6-3 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Schneider.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Schneider.
