The New York Empire overcame a fine performance by Ohio first baseman Billy Wheelock to defeat the Knights, 5-4, at Huntington Park. Wheelock was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. With the win, the Empire have a record of 55-50.

Don Bowman, the five-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bowman contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put New York up, 5-4.
