Railroaders Losing Streak at 11 After Extra-Inning Loss to Empire
|
New York Empire starter Collin Turner was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Pennsylvania Railroaders, 3-2. Mark Davidson notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 5-3. The Railroaders, at 43-63, have lost 11 straight games.
New York used a clutch hit from Miguel Valerio to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Empire ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Pennsylvania manager Mike Kritikos.
