Bridegrooms Deal Blue Pirates 5-1 Setback
|
Ricky Garcia never let the Blue Pirates get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his forkball, to pitch the Bridegrooms to a win, 5-1. Garcia, now 7-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Matt French converted his 27th save in 31 tries.
Art Burke chipped in for Maryland with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
