2065 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Illinois Warhawks.

The New Mexico Danger beat the Illinois Warhawks, 3-1. New Mexico pitcher and Sandy Springs, Georgia, native Sam Johnson led the way. New Mexico reliever Nate Shawler was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Kyle Gurka.

New Mexico won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. With no outs and Kyle Gurka on the mound for Illinois, second baseman Juan Salazar hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Danger fans to their feet.

Salazar called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

The Danger lead the Frontier League East by 3 games.
