Meta Park at the Dog House was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

The California Bulldogs had to overcome a good performance from Minnesota pitcher José Noriega to claim a 2-0 win at Meta Park at the Dog House. Noriega went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Greg Lloyd was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Justin Black was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 32 save opportunities.

California center fielder Gary Corr landed a blow when he socked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. It was his 12th home run of the season. With it, the Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Corr.

The Bulldogs go to 57-63, putting them last in the Frontier League West.
