Gaston goes 3-for-4 as Athletics Squeeze Past Pennsylvania
New Jersey and Pennsylvania took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The New Jersey Athletics topped the Pennsylvania Railroaders by the score of 7-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Wes Gaston. Gaston went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Athletics on the day. New Jersey reliever Jesús Hernández got the win, raising his record to 2-0. José Souza was tagged with the loss. Joe Berry earned his 28th save in 37 chances.

It could have been a different outcome for New Jersey, had it not been for Kai Metson, the slick-fielding center fielder . Metson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put New Jersey up, 7-6.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Metson told the New Jersey Observer.

The Athletics bumped their record to 67-55 with this latest triumph.
