Blue Pirates Get Past Kentucky for 5-4 Win
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Ontario Blue Pirates and Kentucky Lions.

Kentucky got a valiant performance from pitcher Iván Morales, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ontario Blue Pirates. Ontario won the game, 5-4. Morales threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Jon Bennett in relief. His record improves to 7-2. Kane Finzer took the loss. Billy Snow recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 27 for 31.

Ontario used the timely hitting of Jesus Capistran to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Pirates on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Capistran told the Ontario Bulletin. "But we take nothing for granted."

The Blue Pirates go to 72-50, putting them first in the Patriot League North.
