California Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
California picked up a win at Meta Park at the Dog House, bumping off the Arizona Vipers, 5-4. Pitcher Brendon Leiner was a major reason the Bulldogs emerged victorious. Charlie Furlong snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit. He's now 3-2 on the season. California has now won 3 straight, while the Vipers have lost 5 in a row.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with California trailing 4-3, Preston Corgiat jumped on a 1-1 splitter from Jonathan Boehlke for a 2-run home run, sending the Bulldogs to a walk-off win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Corgiat.
