Knights Sneak Past Aviators, 1-0
|
Fans who congregated at Huntington Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
North Carolina pitcher Jason Bick gave the Knights all they could handle, but in the end, Ohio left Huntington Park with a win, 1-0. Bick allowed no runs on 3 hits over 9 innings. Tim Allen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Chad Kretz was tagged with the loss.
The Knights relied on first baseman Billy Wheelock for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Ohio manager .
The win puts the Knights at 56-74, while the Aviators drop to 56-74.
