Steelheads Bridle Aviators, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Idaho Steelheads got the win.
The Idaho Steelheads beat the North Carolina Aviators, 4-2, at Albertson's Field. The Steelheads got a fine performance from first baseman Kurt Woodard, who went 3-4 with 3 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ji-hoon Son earned the save for Idaho, his 39th of the year.
Idaho grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Woodard, who finished 2nd in the FL in home runs with 42 in 2061, hit a 2-run double. His 26th double of the season put the Steelheads out in front, 4-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Woodard told the Idaho Daily.
Idaho raised its record to 69-64 with the win.
