Idaho Gets 6-3 Win Against Aviators
|
The Idaho Steelheads picked up a win at Albertson's Field, knocking off the North Carolina Aviators, 6-3. Starting pitcher Tim Gibson played a key role in the triumph. Gibson, now 10-10, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Idaho now has a 3-game win streak.
The Steelheads got a big at-bat from third baseman Fernando Garza. For the game, Garza was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Idaho a 3-0 lead.
