Steelheads Get Past North Carolina, 8-7
The Idaho Steelheads did just enough to sneak past the North Carolina Aviators, 8-7, at Albertson's Field. Idaho third baseman Ashton Thistle, in particular, had a standout performance. Chris Biggs, 10-8, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Ji-hoon Son earned his 34th save, after closing out the game.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Danny Phillips was at the plate when Idaho scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Steelheads to go in front, 8-7.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Phillips told the Idaho Daily News.

With the win, Idaho goes to 52-82, while the Aviators fall to 68-66.
