Railroaders Spill Empire, 5-1
|
Pennsylvania and New York got after it at The Empire.
Pitcher Leo Evans was rock solid in helping the Pennsylvania Railroaders beat the New York Empire, 5-1. Evans got the win, improving to 7-17. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Evans allowed 1 run.
Pennsylvania used the clutch hitting of Ryan Causey to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Railroaders the lead, 3-0. For the game, Causey had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"Leo is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Pennsylvania manager Mike Kritikos.
The Empire, at 64-72, have lost 4 straight games.
