Victory Takes Vipers to 84-53
|
The Arizona Vipers got a good effort from starter Frank Salerno in defeating the Washington Resonance at The Snake Pit. The final score was 3-0. In 6.1 innings, Salerno surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Jonathan Boehlke, who finished 3rd in the PL in saves with 40 in 2060, earned the save for Arizona.
The Vipers got a big at-bat from third baseman Norm Laurent. For the game, Laurent went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Arizona a 1-0 lead.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Salerno after the game.
The Vipers have an impressive 84-53 record.
