The New Mexico Danger overcame a good performance by Illinois left fielder Todd Schwerdt to knock off Illinois, 7-2, at Todd Berry Memorial Field. Schwerdt was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The setback makes Illinois 52-86.

Mike Ingram had a big run-scoring double for the Danger in the top of the fifth inning. With New Mexico leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Nate Inman, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2059 draft, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Danger ahead, 3-1.

"There's ebbs and flows in the season and right now we're just looking to finish strong," said Ingram.
