Maryland turned a good performance from starting pitcher Rob Herrera into a 5-2 triumph over the New York Empire at Bridegrooms Stadium. Herrera picked up the win for Maryland, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 8-11. The Bridegrooms have now won 5 straight.

Chris Martino had a big 2-run home run for the Bridegrooms in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Maryland leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Jose Ruiz, who finished 3rd in the PL in wins with 15 in 2061, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 22nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bridegrooms ahead, 3-0.
