Railroaders Deal Empire 5-2 Loss
|
Luis Martinez made an impact in the 5-2 Pennsylvania win over New York. Martinez, who finished 5th in the PL in stolen bases with 53 in 2063, was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Oscar Gomez, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-10. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Lysander Kalergi earned his 16th save in 18 tries.
With Pennsylvania leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Martinez hit a changeup from Victor Alejos for a 2-run triple. It was his 5th triple of the season and put the Railroaders ahead, 4-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Martinez said after the game.
The Railroaders sport a record of 56-82.
