California Keeps Spiraling Downward
Idaho pitcher Eric Brothers did his part in helping his team beat the California Bulldogs, 5-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. California is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 9 games.

Ashton Thistle had a big 2-run double for the Steelheads in the top of the third inning. With Idaho leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from former first overall pick Mario Cabello and swatted a double to right. It was his 38th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Steelheads ahead, 3-0.

California manager Brett Williams, after the latest defeat, said, "We've got to clean it up. We've got to play better."
