Pennsylvania Downs Ontario, 5-3
|
Though he had a stellar game, Jesus Capistran could not prevent his team, the Ontario Blue Pirates, from losing, 5-3, to the Pennsylvania Railroaders. Capistran hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Cesar Ayala snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-5 on the season. Billy Snow suffered the loss. With this game in the books, Pennsylvania is 73-69, Ontario 67-75.
Andy Johnstone came through with a big-time hit for Pennsylvania. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Pennsylvania manager Mike Kritikos.
