Knights Drop 7-2 Decision to Aviators
|
The North Carolina Aviators got a marvelous performance from pitcher Manny Aguilar. The right-hander kept the Ohio offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 7-2 North Carolina victory at Huntington Park. Aguilar got the win, improving to 13-10. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. The loss makes Ohio 83-61.
J.J. Watkins had a big run-scoring double for the Aviators in the top of the third inning. With North Carolina leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Masahide Hirata and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aviators ahead, 2-0.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Aguilar.
