The Mallards grabbed a win, 4-3, at The Boom Box, overcoming a fine effort from Washington pitcher Kyler Rhea. Rhea went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Minnesota reliever Jose Jimenez was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Steve Lazenby. The victory gives the Mallards a record of 77-68.
Jesus Vasquez made it 3-2 in favor of Minnesota when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Mallards went on to win.
"We did a lot of things right," said Vasquez.
