The Washington Resonance got a sterling performance from pitcher Willie Calles, but the Minnesota Mallards still prevailed, 5-2. Calles came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters. Brian McGruder earned the win to go to 12-10. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Eric Robert recorded his 7th save for Minnesota.

Julio Marrero, the 25-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Marrero contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Minnesota up, 2-0.
